MTI Night at Ballpark
Are you ready to enjoy a baseball game with fellow alumni and current students of the MTI program ? If so, we have secured 50 tickets to the San Jose Giants Game on August 16th with first pitch at 7 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet up with classmates and Alumni from the program and have a great time catching up while watching the game. We invite you to bring your family along as well to enjoy the game. Please note on sign up form how many kids will be joining you

Your ticket includes a BBQ meal and one beverage, discount to Giant's dugout store and more. This is a Fireworks Friday game, so plan to stay after the game to enjoy the show. It's also Pride night at the ballpark, first 500 to enter park get a Pride sweatshirt!

Secretary Norman Y. Mineta, an icon in transportation, MTI Board Chair Abbas Mohaddas and MSTM Education Director Dr. Asha Weinstein Agrawal will offer congratulatory remarks to the degree candidates. The Student of the Year from the Class of 2020, Michelle Louie, will be addressing the graduating class as well. Your alumni association president Olivia Rocha will be welcoming all of the students into the alumni association and presenting the 2020 Alumna of the Year Award to Ms. Rachel Donovan.
The celebration includes award presentations and individualized recognition of each candidate for the Master of Science in Transportation Management (MSTM).

MOVIE AND GALA: Norm Mineta's Story
Join the MSTM alumni and current students for the screening of “An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy” on May 10, 2018, 7:00 pm at the Castro Theater in San Francisco.
The screening begins at 7 PM with an introduction, followed by showing the documentary from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by a moderated Q&A with Norm Mineta from 8:30 PM to 9 PM. The gala with appetizers and drinks is at the Asian Art Museum from 9:30 PM to midnight. The Asian Art Museum is located 1.7 miles from the Castro Theater; both are close to Market Street and numerous transit lines including the historic streetcar and Muni light rail (K, L, M lines).
Former San Jose mayor, Democratic congressperson, cabinet secretary, founder of the Mineta Transport Institute (MTI), veteran, and World War II incarceration camp survivor, Norman Mineta’s life premiers on the big screen in Dianne Fukami and Debra Nakatomi’s “An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy.” It has been selected as the Opening Night film as part of the Center for Asian American Media’s (CAAM) film festival, or CAAMFest36.
“An American Story” highlights the challenges Mineta and his family faced while incarcerated at Heart Mountain, Wyoming as an 11-year old boy, inspiring him to become a community leader. Considered a man of many firsts, Mineta, according to producers Fukami and Nakatomi, personifies the dreams and aspirations of the Asian American community.
